Singapore Idol Finale

Well, no surprises then. Hady Mirza, the overwhelming favourite has won the second season of Singapore Idol. The first winner was Taufik Batisah. Seriously, what has happened to the winner of Singapore Idol Season 1. For that matter, what happened to Sylvester Sim (The previous Singapore Idol runner up). We've seen Taufik grace advertisements for 7-11 and also Beras Harmuni. So can we expect the same results for Hady? Hehehehe. Hopefully not. Heard that Taufik's so called album is due out soon. But Singapore Idol 1 seemed such a distance away. Hopefully, they can market Hady at a much faster pace that Taufik.

Been shopping around lately, looking for stuff for my Macbook. I've been shopping for stuff to "protect" my Mac, from me, hehehehe, knowing what a klutz I am. So, first bought a notebook sleeve, to carry the Mac around. Next bought a keypad skin and also a trackpad skin. Just went to the apple shop at Orchard Cineleisure, after breaking fast to buy a Scratch guard matrix film to protect the Mac from outer scratches. Have been eyeing some laptop bags ever since I got the Mac. But the prices are quite expensive. The cheapest that I've found, which appealed to me, is a Targus bag. Going on offer at 59 bucks from 92 dollars at Funan. We'll see first. Earlier was at Robinsons and spotted a Timberland laptop backpack going for $90. Still thinking about it though, cos been spending quite a bit on the Mac accessories.

Earlier whilst driving, spotted that the car left headlight was quite dim. On checking, discovered that the bulb had blown. Guess, tomorrow will have to go and pay a visit to JDM at Eunos to get another pair of lights. There goes another 80 bucks. Luckily didn't buy the laptop bag earlier.

Two days into Ramadhan and today I broke my fast at Al Falah mosque. Guess what was served. Briyani!!! Yummy. Tonight, going to sleep late again, cos watching repeat of Amazing Race. Missed the original telecast on AXN as my wife is having classes every Monday evening. So no choice, have to see the repeat at 1 a.m. After that, watch soccer, Manchester United vs Benfica at 2.45 a.m. Luckily not working tomorrow, so can sleep in.

Why do I have so many CDs???

Finally, today managed to make a catalogue of all my music CDs. I was quite surprised as I was expecting to have over 300 CDs in my possession. Surprisingly, I only have about 275 CDs in total, hehehehe. Let's see now, if on average, I spent about 15 dollars of CDs, that would make a grand total of ........ $4,125????? Wah, I wonder what I could have done with that. I think it's time I started to think deeper before purchasing that CDs. Luckily now, got place to store the CDs.

I think I've been spending too much lately. Buying books, buying CDs, buying magazines. I should be able to cut down soon, just by surfing the net more often instead. It's a pity that itunes is not available yet for Singaporeans who would like to purchase songs over the net, as it would reduce greatly my expenditure on buying CDs, i.e. I can purchase the songs that I want and not buy the whole album. Well, Apple did reveal that they will be letting us buy music over the net in the near future.

Went to my mum's house today to have a look at the plasma TV that they bought during the recent COMEX exhibition. My goodness, it's super huge. It's about half the length of the wall in the living room. I think that you've got to sit at the other end of the room, just to watch TV, if not it would definitely spoil your eyesight. My mum even told me that Md Faisal complained that the television is too loud.....haiz, just like his Nyayi, low tolerance for noise.

After visiting my parents, went to Ikea to exchange some stuff. Thought that they would give a one for one exchange, but apparently that is not their practise. They willl instead refund you the money and ask you to go and get the item from the store instead. I think this is a shrewd plan from Ikea, as I ended up puchasing some additional items before replacing the defective item that I had purchased.

Anyway, I'm so happy that the IMF has finally ended. It means no more standbys, and I have managed to get a full 2 days of rest after the night shift on Thursday.

Here's wishing all Muslims a blessed Ramadhan and Selamat Berpuasa...... Hehehe, cos I don't know when I will update my blog next (got people comment liao, hehehe). Hopefully the next blog will not be after hari raya haji :)

Ciaos, Arrividerci, Goodnight everyone!!!!

Not enough sleep!!!

Yesterday morning, I was so excited. After waiting nearly 2 weeks for the arrival of my MacBook and also my new Singnet Broadband, it was finally settled yesterday. Got excited, as usual and on Monday, I had gone to various book stores to find out more on my Apple computer and how to use it. Finally went to Borders while my wife was having her classes and bought 2 books, Macbook for dummies and also Windows XP Media Centre. Hehehehe.

After the thing was installed, downloading speeds improved tremendously from my previous Maxonline connection. I downloaded the updates for the Macbook within fifteen to twenty minutes. Just barely time, before the battery power died off. Due to my overwhelming need to try out my laptop, I brought the Macbook to work to charge it during the 12 hour shift. Hehehe, my wife shook her head when she found out that I had brought the Macbook to work. Typically me, she said. I couldn't disagree more. :)

Yesterday, we went to the paint shop to buy paint for our problematic study room, which we initially had painted red. So, we wanted a cooler colour and also to shift around some furniture in the study room. However when we reached the shop, the shop owner informed that the colour was not available and we had to pre-order and come the day after. We then bought a white base paint to cover up the previous colour. On the very same day, after my wife sent me to work, (I did not sleep before night shift) and she painted one side of the room. Kind of funny looking at the room, with one side white, while the other three are red.

After my night shift, we went back home and started to paint the room again. Halfway through, got a call from my supervisor, informing me that I had to report to work later that same day. Wow, I thought, here there will be a zombie coming to work, as he has not slept more than an hour for 2 days....... Luckily, managed to assist her to paint the white base for her to finish up the colour that we have chosen, Revitalise. After painting one side of the room "Revitalise", I must admit that the room appeared brighter and much cooler than before. It looks a little like lime green though.

Tomorrow we'll be finishing off the remaining portions of the paint job and shifting around the furniture.... As for me, I still have not slept yet. Waiting for Champions league to start at 2. My wife is currently beside me, complaining why I am not sleeping and waiting for soccer. Well, some times we all have to make sacrifices...... :P .....

Singing off, and hoping the United will do well tonight :)
