To move or not to move?
Came back from night shift on Saturday and rested for a while. My wife and I then headed for the launch of the new block of flats in Tampines infront of Darul Ghufran. That was about 12 noon. My goodness, there were so many people queueing up to view the showflat. It streched from just across the mosque to the busstop nearby. Met a couple of other police officers who were also queueing up to catch a glimpse of the latest HDB/cum private developer housing. After some time, we managed to get into the cool aircon where the showflats were. Goodness, upon inspecting both the 5 room flats, we came to the same conclusion, our house right now seems much bigger. What is up with HDB these days, most of the bedrooms are so small that you could only fit a queen size bed and there will only be a small space left. Where are we going to pray / laze around / sit while cooling off from jogging??? I must admit that the interior looks very nice with all the extras thrown in, but for the price that the houses are going, it appears to be too lavish. The kitchen in one of the showflat itself, appears to be slighly bigger than my house store room?!? We then decided that instead of putting the 5% deposit required (roughly about $20K and channel that potential fund into renovating our house later. So I guess, we will not be shifting house then.....
After snooping around, we went to Suntec, because yours truly wanted to get a thumbdrive. I got a 1GB Sandisk Cruzer Micro for $39. We then went to break our fast at Mak Andak's house. Ate to our fullest and then went back home.
On Sunday, my wife was busy with making kuih2 raya at my mum's house. So, I decided to help my mum a bit and went through all my old stuff and cleared some of them. Also helped to bring down the curtains and managed to squeeze some additional sleep there, hehehe.
This morning woke up for sahur, ate and now doing some sprucing up of the home as today, I am on leave! Yeah, finally some respite from work. Gotta catch up with my sleep too, cos I think I may have picked up the flu bug. Signing off.........
